UGC Pay Revision and New Pay Fixation

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the college in assocaition with the P.K.M. Staff Association conducted a Capacity Building Workshop in the context of the UGC 7th Pay Revision to be implemented in the state of Kerala.
The inaugural session was convened in the General Hall at 10.00 am which was presided over by Dr. Jessy N.C, the Principal of the college. The workshop Co-ordinator Dr. Rekha K.R. welcomed the participants. The significance of the workshop was illustrated in the welcome address itself. Dr Jessy NC, in her presidential address pointed out the significance of having clarity with reference to pay fixation and the whole UGC regulations with respect to faculty recruitments and faculty promotions. All the faculty members, library staff and ministerial staff participated.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. R.K. Biju, Member, Senate of Kannur University by calculating the new basic pay of the entrant faculty in the present pay of Rs. 15,600/-
The Key Resource Person, Dr. Biju R.K. who has got a very crystal clear understanding of the whole area of UGC regulations and all the steps taken by different Universities in our state and the Kerala Govt, very interestingly and competently did the presentation adopting an interactive strategy with digital display of all the relevant tables, formats and Government Orders related to this area.
Live fixation of pay was attempted by the participants, making clarifications over the emerging doubts.
Dr. Biju took commendable efforts in making the participants attempt various option possibilities especially fixing the date of increments etc.
The Resource Person was awarded the certificate in honour of sharing his time and expertise for the institution by Dr. Jessy N.C.
The workshop is found to be highly beneficial for all the participants from the informational point of view as well as in the practical aspects of new Pay Fixation. Vote of thanks was extended by Dr. Fr. Sinoj Joseph, the Secretary of P.K.M. Staff Association.
