‘Laptop for All’- the student support project of PKM for sharing digital devices was initiated in 2020 by the student teachers of Department of Physical Science during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
As part of the megaproject ‘Next Generation Teacher at PKM in the context of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals’ aiming at seven distinct goals, ‘Laptop for All’ is a project intended to attain three specific goals- Teachers as Digital Experts, Equity Upholders and Humanity Propagators.
In the context of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) ‘Laptop for All’ addresses the UNSDG 1: No Poverty; UNSDG 4: Quality Education and UNSDG 10: Reduced Inequality.
In solidarity with ‘Let us Go Digital’ initiative of Kerala State Higher Education Council; ‘Laptop for All’ creates a pool of digital devices that can be borrowed by the needy students.
‘Laptop for All’ functions as a student support project under the ‘Share your Spare movement’ of PKM to share digital devices for the needy student teachers, targeting 100% access to digital devices.
The benefactors of the project include sponsors from Abroad, Management, Alumni, PTA, Staff, Student Teachers and other well-wishers. Every year the student teachers benefit from the project for their study purpose especially during their internship.
