In the context of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) The Next Generation Teacher Education at PKM aims to develop Teachers as Peace Builders.
Cadets of Peace is a collaborative initiative of P.K.M. College of Education in partnership with NGO’s working for peace such as Peace and Harmony Foundation (Kerala) and Peace Channel (Nagaland). The initiative was launched by Dr. Jill Car-Harris, International Peace Activist on 18th February 2018.
Cadets of Peace aims to professionally train the student teachers to be leaders of peace building. It also aims to develop knowledge, skills and attitude in Conflict Resolution and Peace Building and to become cadets of peace to initiate peace building activities in their work place.
The practices include Institutional Initiatives for creating awareness and Student Teacher Initiatives for making them engaged with the field to become cadets of peace to initiate peace building activities in their work place.
