As part of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the NSS Unit and IQAC of P.K.M. College of Education organized a sports-based awareness programme on 27th June 2025 at 2:00 PM, themed “Drugs Destroy, Sports Empower.” The initiative aimed to promote a healthy and active lifestyle among students, positioning sports as a positive and constructive alternative to substance abuse. A friendly cricket match was conducted to instil values of teamwork, discipline, and physical well-being. Two teams, each comprising 11 players, participated in the match, which was held under the guidance of NSS Programme Officer Dr. Fr. Sinoj Joseph and Physical Education Captain Ishan Gautham P.S. The programme effectively conveyed the message that regular participation in sports can be a powerful preventive strategy against drug abuse, while also fostering focus, resilience, and mental strength. The event saw enthusiastic participation and received positive feedback from both students and staff, reinforcing the importance of sports in nurturing a drug-free, healthy, and vibrant campus environment.
