Financial Literacy Awareness Programme : “Be Financially Smart”

As part of the Financial Literacy Project ‘Prajyothi’, an initiative of Sreekandapuram Municipality, an awareness programme titled “Be Financially Smart” was organized at P.K.M. College of Education on 17th September 2025 at 2.30 p.m., in association with the IQAC and NSS Unit No. 87 of the college.The programme was inaugurated by Dr. K.V. Philomina Teacher, Chairperson of Sreekandapuram Municipality. During the inaugural address Madam spoke about the online hackers,traps,money chain traps and sex rackets in current scenario. Dr. Veena Appukuttan, IQAC Coordinator, welcomed the gathering, and Dr. Prasanth Mathew, Vice Principal, delivered the presidential address. Following the inauguration, the College Club 2025–27 was also formally inaugurated by Dr. Philomina.The resource person of the initiative Prajyothi, Ms. Mythili Mohan, delivered a thought-provoking session on the importance of financial literacy. She highlighted various forms of corruption in the financial sector, explained precautions against digital scams, and discussed measures to be taken in case of fraud.Mr. Arun K., College Chairperson, offered felicitations. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Akshara, College University Union Councilor.
