International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

P.K.M. College of Education, Madampam, observed the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. On 26th June 2025, at 9:30 AM, the staff and students participated in the online anti-drug awareness inauguration program and pledge organized by the Department of Higher Education. They also took the anti-drug pledge during the event held at the college’s video conference hall. Following that, at the meeting held at 2 PM, NSS Programme Officer Dr. Fr. Sinoj Joseph delivered the welcome address. This was followed by the presidential address by the college Vice Principal, Dr. Prasanth Mathew, who spoke about the role of educational institutions in creating a drug-free environment. The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Shaji V. V., Anti-Narcotics Inspector from the Taliparamba Excise Circle Office. He discussed the emerging trends in drug use and emphasized the importance of preventive measures. Student Mathews S. Francis delivered the vote of thanks to all who participated in the event.
