International Women’s Day Celebration 2026

P.K.M. College of Education, Madambam celebrated International Women’s Day 2026 on 9 March 2026 at 11.00 a.m. in the Video Conference Room. The programme was jointly organized by the IQAC, Women Cell and College Union with the objective of promoting gender equality, women empowerment and awareness about the contributions of women in various fields. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Reena Sebastian, Principal, S.E.S. College, Sreekandapuram. Dr. Jessy N.C., Principal, P.K.M. College of Education, presided over the function. Ms. Deepa John, Librarian, welcomed the gathering .The formal function concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Devika, Student Coordinator.
In her inaugural address, the chief guest emphasized the role of education in empowering women and encouraged the student teachers to contribute positively to society by promoting equality and social responsibility. As part of the celebration, student teachers presented short presentations on the lives and achievements of famous women personalities from different disciplines, highlighting their contributions to science, literature, social reform, education and public life. The programme created an atmosphere of inspiration and appreciation for the remarkable achievements of women and reinforced the values of equality, dignity and empowerment among the participants.
