The program titled “Lingua Connect” conducted as a part of the Multi Lingual and Multi-Cultural Interaction Series was held Multipurpose Hall-1 on 9th October 2024. The program
commenced at 3:00 PM. Sudhina T delivered the welcome speech and Dr. Veena
Appukkuttan presided over the function. The program was formally inaugurated by College
Principal Dr. Jessy N.C. The felicitation speech was offered by student coordinator Ashly
Joseph and Anaswara Muraleedharan expressed the vote of thanks.
This was the first program organized by IQAC and Department of Social Science as a part of
the Multi Lingual and Multi-Cultural Interaction Series. The theme of this program was ‘A
Glimpse in to Kannada’. Nidhi and Sneha introduced the Kannada language, taking a deeper
look at the history and evolution of the language. The crux of the program, the interaction
session, was handled by Thanujashri. She presented some videos showcasing the cultural
wealth of Karnataka. She spoke next of how Kannada language can be used for everyday life
for which she asked the audience about the translations of commonly used words and
greetings that they wanted to know in Kannada. Then Thanujashri went on to introduce the
Kannada script and some names from the audience were selected to be written in Kannada
script marking the end of the lively and interesting interaction session.
