ORIENTATION ON ADD ON COURSE (ICT)

As part of Pre-internship orientation for 2023-2025 batch conducted an orientation on Add on course – ICT on 29th July 2024 at video conference hall. The objective of the programme was to enable the student teachers to be accustomed with ICT integrated teaching, to develop technical skills in video making, to improve learner’s ability to convey ideas clearly through video recording etc. The session started at 11 am and the resource person was Fr. Sijo Thaliyath (Director, CS Reds Media). He had taken an insightful session about the integration of information and communication technology in the teaching and learning process, along with comprehensive overview of video recording in classrooms. The session covered various tools and platforms that educators can use to integrate ICT into their lessons. These included online resources, educational software, interactive white boards, and virtual learning environments. In the second part of the session discussed about the advantages of video recording of the classes. The core of the session was hands on demonstration on setting up and using video recording equipment. Full day session was very helpful for both teachers and student teachers. The benefits of video recording were explored in depth, including the ability for students to review lessons at their own pace, the opportunity for teachers to self-respect and improve their instructional techniques and the potential for creating a consistent learning environment for all students. These tools would not only enhance the quality of education but also empower teachers to become more innovative and effective in their roles. Participants appreciated the entire session with practical aspects. The session was ended at 4.30 pm and 65 participants were attended the programme.
