As part of the STEM @ Schools project—an academic initiative jointly implemented by P.K.M. College of Education, Madampam and Srishti Robotics and Technologies—the second phase of training for school students was conducted on August 9. Considering the importance of robotics in the field of general education, twenty-two students of Class 9 received training in modern technologies such as robotics and coding. The technical sessions were handled by STEM @ Schools Coordinator Sonima Krishnan C, STEM Mentor Akshay Siby, and Marygiri English Medium School’s Atal Tinkering Lab Instructor Reshmi Benjamin. With the presence of about thirteen trained STEM mentors, the students were able to operate devices such as simple LEDs, multiple LEDs, traffic lights, and buzzer sensors using Arduino kits. Through an online interaction with internationally acclaimed Srishti Robotics and Technologies CEO Sunil Paul, the students had the opportunity to learn about cutting-edge technologies in robotics. The programme, held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on August 9 at the STEM Laboratory of P.K.M. College of Education, was inaugurated by the College Principal, Dr. Jessy N.C. Course Director Dr. Prasanth Mathew presided over the function. STEM@Schools Coordinator Fathimathul Zuhra M coordinated the event.
