Workshop on STEM in Education In the context of NEP 2020 for Student Teachers and Teachers

The Sci -Fiesta 2025 workshop on “STEM in Education: in the context of NEP 2020” was conducted on February 7, 2025 at P.K.M. College of Education as part of the District Level National Science Day Celebrations supported by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology, and Environment, Government of Kerala. The theme of the year is “Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat.”
Dr M.K. Satheesh Kumar, Atmospheric Scientist inaugurated the Sci- Fiesta 2025 by watering a plant. In the keynote address he presented the impact of microplastics for the life of animals and humans. Dr Jessy NC Principal chaired the session and Dr Prasanth Mathew, Programme Co-ordinator gave a brief description about the Project.
Mr. Sunil Paul, CEO, Srishti Robotics led the workshop on STEM in Education from 11 am to 3pm. The event provided valuable insights into the future of robotics, AI, and innovative teaching methodologies. Mr. Sunil Paul emphasized the need for integrating STEM concepts into the curriculum to prepare students for the evolving technological landscape. The session provided a deeper understanding of STEM education and its future applications among student teachers and teachers.
Dr Veena Appukuttan, IQAC Co-ordinator chaired the Valedictory session and prizes were distributed for the winners of Science Kit Making Competition for High School Students and Painting Competition for Upper Primary School Students.
This was the first programme organized by P.K.M. College of Education in Partnership with “Greening Education Partnership” at UNESCO.
The STEM in Education Workshop was coordinated by student coordinators Ms. Sisira V. and Mr Nijil Sans of B.Ed. 2023-25 batch.
