Objective
- To create an awareness on ‘energy conservation’ among people
- To develop skills of student teachers through organizing outreach programmes
Programme
‘Urjakiran’ is a programme organized in collaboration with Energy Management Centre (EMC) -Government of Kerala and Centre for Environment and Development – Government of India. As part of Urjakiran programme, P.K.M College of Education conducted a Seminar on the topic ‘Lifestyle and Energy Efficiency’ on 8th January 2023 at Parish Hall, St. Alphonsa Church, Mundannur. The programme was inaugurated by Adv. Sajeev Joseph, M.L.A of Irikkur Constituency. Dr.Jessy N.C, Principal of PKM College of Education, delivered the presidential address. Fr. Amal Tomy, Mr. Biju Arakkal, Dr. Prasanth Mathew (Vice Principal, PKM College of Education), Ms. Anjana Chandran (Student Coordinator of the Programme) were present at the event. Classes on the topic were taken by E.M.C Resource persons
Ms. Ann Kurian, Ms. Arya K I and Mr. Anand Ravi. Around 85 people participated in the programme. Distribution of LED Bulbs were also a part of the programme. Programme ended at 6.30 pm.
