Urja Kiran: Rally and Signature Campaigns

Urja Kiran 2022 – 23, Energy conservation rally and signature campaign of P K M College of Education was held on 15th December 2022. It was a programme jointly organised by energy management center, Kerala and P K M College of Education at B C M Club and library, Madampam. It was flagged off by shri Dominic P L – president of B C M Club, Madampam. Student teachers conducted a rally from regulator cum bridge Madampam town at 3 P M with their slogans and pluck cards up. The official program started at 3 .15 P M at Madampam town in the presence of members of B C M Club, student teachers and the general public. Dr. Fr. Sinoj Joseph, Assistant Professor of Physical Education welcomed the gathering with his profound words about energy conservation and its necessity. The programme was presided over by Sr. Dr. Jessy N C – Principal, P K M College of Education. She reminded the gathering about the crisis we are in it’s the question of energy conservation is not answered properly the future generation will have its impacts. The signature campaign was inaugurated by Smt. Meena Saji, Councillor of Sreekandapuram Municipality.
She reflected upon various methods we have to adopt in our daily life to preserve and conserve energy resources. She added about the need of change that should be practised in each home. Mr Anand Ravi, resource person of EMC as well as second year B Ed student handled a detailed session on energy conservation and its relevance. The information shared was thought provoking since the statistics of energy usage by Keralites was shocking. In order to overcome this crisis, the alternative systems should be developed at the earliest. And he gave a framework of different government policies and it’s benefits to the audience. Shri. Binoy, Headmaster of Madampam Maryland High school and Shri Dominic gave their felicitation address. The pledge was provided by AnushaV, Urja Kiran Coordinator. Dr.Prasanth Mathew, coordinator – Urja Kiran project proposed the vote of thanks. The students, members of B C M club and the general public marked their initial step for energy conservation through a signature as part of the campaign. The student teachers of P K M circulated a pamphlet detailing the scientific methods for energy conservation.
