Human Rights Day Observance

The alumni association and the department of social science, PKM College of education Madampam jointly organized a panel discussion on “HUMAN RIGHTS OF SOCIALLY DISADVANTAGED SECTIONS IN INDIA “at the college auditorium on Friday as part of the celebrations for Human Rights Day.  Sreethu M, a social science student teacher, opened the program with a prayer song at 9:45 a.m. The program staff coordinator Dr. Veena Appukuttan delivered the welcome address. The program student coordinator Vrindha M. O. delivered the introduction speech.  After that, Dr. Sr. Jessy NC published an e-journal on different human rights and their significance, prepared by social science student teachers. Then Dr.Prasanth Mathew, the alumni association staff coordinator and the college vice principal delivered the felicitation speech. The panel discussion started at 10.45 a.m. after the official program. Moderator duties were handled by Dr. Veena Appukuttan, an assistant professor of social science. PKM alumni Shri. Jerin Jose (History of Human Rights), Ms. Navya A. R.  (Women and Human Rights), and Ms. Ramya Raghavan (Children and Human Rights) served as the panel’s resource people. After that, teachers and teacher-students held discussions on related topics. After the panel discussion, Dr. Veena Appukuttan handed over the certificate to the resource persons. The program ended at 1.45 pm with a vote of thanks by Tincy Thomas.
