ASTRALIS:World Space Week 2024-Interactive Session on the topic ‘Tharaganam’ and Valedictory Function

Interactive Session
An interactive session on “Tharaganam” was held at P.K.M. College of Education on October 8, 2024, as part of World Space Week 2024. Shri. E. Narayanan, a retired Headmaster and an astrophile, led the session.
The interactive session on “Tharaganam” covered the 12 zodiac signs and their significance. Shri. E. Narayanan also explained the 27 nakshatras and their symbolic representation. He discussed how humans have used stars for navigation, direction, and agriculture since ancient times. Additionally, he shared his teaching experiences and demonstrated simple science experiments to show how science applies to everyday life.
Valedictory Function
The Valedictory Function for Astralis took place at Multipurpose Hall 1, starting at 12:00 pm. The event began with a welcome speech by Meera K V. Then, Rinu Mariya, the programme coordinator, presented a report on the programme. Dr. Prasanth Mathew, Assistant Professor in Physical Science, gave the presidential address, and Dr. Jessy N C, the principal, delivered the Valedictory Address. The guest, Shri. E. Narayanan, was honoured during the function. College Chairman Amin Mathew shared his feedback, and the programme ended with a vote of thanks by Bhavana T V.
