International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking: Awareness Programme

As part of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, P.K.M. College of Education, Madampam, organized an awareness class under the auspices of the IQAC and N.S.S. The session began with a formal meeting at 10:30 A.M. on 26.06.2025 in the college video conference hall. The Vice Principal of the College, Dr. Prasanth Mathew, delivered the welcome address. The awareness class was conducted by the College Psychologist (Jeevani: A Kerala Govt. Initiative), Ms. Anusha Benny. She provided clear insights into the harmful effects of drug use, how it affects the human body, the role of the neurotransmitter dopamine, and how it impacts the brain. She also discussed how drug use begins in children, how to identify the early signs, and ways to address and prevent it. IQAC Coordinator Dr. Veena Appukuttan delivered the vote of thanks.
