One-Day Workshop on STEM Education for Teachers and Student Teachers

The STEM@Schools Project, collaboratively organized by the P. K. M. College of Education Institution Innovation Council (IIC) in association with Srishti Robotics & Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and the IEEE OES Student Chapter (KMEA Engineering College, Kochi), conducted a One-Day Workshop on “STEM Education in the Context of NEP” on 15 November 2025. The workshop aimed to integrate STEM-based learning into school and teacher education practices in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. It was designed to inspire inquiry-based learning and equip participants with emerging technological skills relevant to modern educational environments.
The inaugural session began at 9:30 a.m. with a prayer, followed by the welcome address delivered by Ms. Meera K. V. Introductory remarks on STEM education within the NEP framework were shared by Dr. Prasanth Mathew. Reports were presented by Ms. Ashly Joseph (STEM Mentors @ PKM) and Ms. Fathimathul Zuhra (STEM @ Schools).
The Presidential Address by Dr. Jessy N. C., Principal, highlighted the institution’s commitment to nurturing technologically confident future educators. The Inaugural Address was delivered by Mr. Sunil Paul, CEO of Srishti Robotics, followed by the vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Sonima Krishnan C.
The technical session, led by Mr. Sunil Paul, was held in the STEM laboratory with a focus on Robotics, Coding, 3D Printing, and related technologies. Participants engaged in hands-on training involving STEM kits, basic robotics, and simple coding activities, making the session highly interactive and practice-oriented.
The workshop concluded with a valedictory session, which included participant reflections, feedback, and the honouring of STEM Mentors @ PKM (Batch 2024–26). The event came to a close with the National Anthem, marking the successful culmination of the programme.
