An Outreach Programme in connection with Christmas Chart Kris Kringle on 16-12-2023

Kris kringle, an outreach programme in connection with Christmas was organised by the Peace Forum as part of inclusive education by PKM College of Education on 16th Saturday, December 2023. Student teachers visited Pratyasha Bhavan, Kannur. It is a home for the destitute men and persons with infirmity. The initiative was came from the students themselves and peace forum extended all its support. On Saturday, 37 student teachers and two accompanying staff reached Pratyasha Bhavan at 10.30 am. A formal gathering was arranged and the head of the institution Sr. Jeena FCC welcomed the gathering. Sr. Karolin FCC proposed the introductory remarks followed by the felicitation of Mrs. Jomol Jose, Asst. Prof. in Natural Science. The student teachers conducted various cultural events such as dance, song etc., The inmates of the home also actively participated in the events. A Carol party was organised and the santa close made the occasion even more colourful. Cake cutting ceremony was followed by a rapport session wherein the student teachers interacted with the inmates.
At 12.30 lunch was distributed to the inmates arranged by the students and they also took part in the lunch. As asked by the administrators of the home, 4 ceiling fans were bought by the student teachers and handed over them to Sr. Jeena. The event came to an end by 2 O clock. The programme was a grand success as many student teachers shared their joy of spending such a wonderful time with destitute men. Student coordinators Ms. Aishwarya K., Amal Tomy, Akhil C K and Jyothis Cyriac took the lead role in arranging the event.
