The Department of Social Science, PKM College of Education, organized a discussion programme on “Kerala Financial White Paper (ധവളപത്രം) 2026: Fiscal Challenges, Governance and Future Strategies” on 08 June 2026 at the Multipurpose Hall. The programme commenced with a welcome address delivered by Anna Crista Alex. Subisha T. presented an overview of the Kerala Financial White Paper (ധവളപത്രം) 2026, outlining the state’s current fiscal situation and major financial concerns. Sruthi K. Shaji delivered a presentation on Fiscal Governance and Financial Management, emphasizing the importance of transparency, accountability, and effective financial administration in public governance. Sreesha C. discussed the Causes of the Financial Crisis, highlighting key factors contributing to Kerala’s fiscal challenges, including rising public expenditure, increasing debt liabilities, and revenue constraints. Sithara K. V. presented on Reforms and Future Strategies, focusing on policy measures and sustainable approaches for strengthening financial management, enhancing revenue generation, and promoting long-term economic development. The discussion provided valuable insights into Kerala’s financial condition, public debt burden, fiscal deficit, and the necessity of fiscal discipline, efficient resource utilization, and strategic planning for sustainable growth.
